چکیده

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) regulate gene expression by binding to complementary sequences within target mRNAs. Apart from working ‘solo’, miRNAs may interact in important molecular networks such as competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) axes. By for a limited pool of miRNAs, transcripts long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and mRNAs can each other, fine-tuning expression. Several ceRNA led different lncRNAs—described here lncRNA-mediated ceRNAs—seem play essential roles cervical cancer (CC). conducting an extensive search, we summarized involved CC, highlighting the major impacts dynamic changes over multiple cellular processes. Through sponging distinct some lncRNAs HOTAIR, MALAT1, NEAT1, OIP5-AS1, XIST trigger crucial changes, ultimately increasing cell proliferation, migration, invasion, inhibiting apoptosis. Likewise, several seem be sponge tumor-suppressive (as miR-140-5p, miR-143-3p, miR-148a-3p, miR-206), impairing molecules exerting negative post-transcriptional regulation Curiously, code proteins PTEN, ROCK1, MAPK1, known modulate growth, apoptosis, adhesion CC. Overall, highlight functional interactions occurring cells their closely related impact on carcinogenesis.

Modeling competing endogenous RNAs networks

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small RNA molecules, about 22 nucleotide long, which post-transcriptionally regulate their target messenger RNAs (mRNAs). They accomplish key roles in gene regulatory networks, ranging from signaling pathways to tissue morphogenesis, and their aberrant behavior is often associated with the development of various diseases. Recently it has been shown that, in analogy with t...

Long noncoding RNA associated-competing endogenous RNAs in gastric cancer

Some long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play important roles in the regulation of gene expression by acting as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs). However, the roles of lncRNA associated-ceRNAs in oncogenesis are not fully understood. Here, based on lncRNA microarray data of gastric cancer, bioinformatic algorithm miRcode and microRNA (miRNA) targets database TarBase, we first constructed an lncRNA-...

Circular RNAs function as competing endogenous RNAs in multiple types of cancer

Circular (circ)RNAs, naturally formed endogenous non-coding RNAs, have received extensive attention in recent years due to their special loop structures and specific function. circRNAs are formed with covalently closed continuous loops and are mainly generated by back-splicing processes or lariat introns from exons and/or introns. Usually, circRNAs are stable, abundant, and evolutionarily conse...

Competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs): new entrants to the intricacies of gene regulation

The discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) has led to a paradigm shift in our basic understanding of gene regulation. Competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) are the recent entrants adding to the complexities of miRNA mediated gene regulation. ceRNAs are RNAs that share miRNA recognition elements (MREs) thereby regulating each other. It is apparent that miRNAs act as rheostats that fine-tune gene expressio...

Molecular Network-Based Identification of Competing Endogenous RNAs in Thyroid Carcinoma

RNAs may act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), a critical mechanism in determining gene expression regulations in many cancers. However, the roles of ceRNAs in thyroid carcinoma remains elusive. In this study, we have developed a novel pipeline called Molecular Network-based Identification of ceRNA (MNIceRNA) to identify ceRNAs in thyroid carcinoma. MNIceRNA first constructs micro RNA (miR...
